For two people in two time zones

Until you're together.

A private space for the wait: the countdown to the day the distance ends, a question neither of you can read until you've both answered, and the small things that survive the gap.

The until. home screen: New York at 5:39 PM on the left, London at 10:39 PM on the right, and 18 days until London
The countdown screen: 11 days, 93% of the wait behind you

It's 5:38 PM in New York and 10:38 PM in London. until. shows both, all day, on every screen.

Two cities. One countdown.

What it refuses to be

  • Streaks
  • Chat
  • A feed
  • A friends list
  • Location tracking
  • Ads
  • A relationship score

The whole idea

Long distance isn't about missing each other. It's about having nothing to share.

So until. gives you something new every day: one question neither of you has answered, one photo of an ordinary hour, one thing to make together tonight.

From two cities to one

Scroll runs the countdown.

What the wait looks like in until., from the first day apart to the day the seam closes.

  1. 01

    Two skies

You each choose a city. Home splits down a dotted seam: your sky on one side, theirs on the other, each at its own time of day.

  2. 02

    Two clocks

Both local times sit under the skies, so you know it's nearly eleven at night for them before you send anything.

  3. 03

    One question, sealed

One question a day. You each write an answer, and neither of you can read the other's until you've both sent one.

  4. 04

    Opened side by side

When the second answer lands, both open at once, next to each other. The daily photo works the same way: sealed until you've each sent one.

  5. 05

    Together Mode

When the countdown reaches the day and you're in the same place, the seam closes and Home becomes one sky. Afterwards it helps you set the next date.

Alex and Maya are the app's demo couple. The question, both answers and both photos are its sample content.

  1. 01 Every morning

    A question, sealed both ways.

You can't read theirs until you've written yours. It's the difference between a conversation and a status update.

The questions know where you are: tagged by how long you've been apart, how close the reunion is, and what time it is for each of you, so three days out you get reunion questions rather than “what did you eat today”.

400 questions, none repeated for over a year

A city street before dawn, steam rising, a few lit windows above
Today's question: What is one thing we should absolutely not plan? Whoever answers first waits.
  2. 02 Every day

One photo of an ordinary hour.

Not the highlights. The kitchen at 7am, the walk home, the train window. Both photos stay sealed until you've both sent one, so nobody is performing for the other.

They land side by side, with the local time under each, which is how you find out that your morning coffee is their last thing before bed.

A small kitchen at 7am, a moka pot starting to steam in morning light
    New York7:12 AM
A quiet street at dusk, streetlamps just switched on, one lit window
    Seoul9:12 PM

Sealed until you've both sent one

  3. 03 Whenever

Press and hold. They feel how long.

No message to compose, nothing to be clever about. The longer you hold it, the longer it plays back on their phone: at 3am, in a meeting, on a bus.

A full charge is under three seconds, and there's one every three hours, so it can never turn into a score.

  4. 04 For later

Letters for the days that need them.

Write one tonight for the day they can't sleep, or the day it all goes wrong, or their birthday. It stays sealed until that day actually arrives, and you don't get to take it back.

Open When is part of Premium. Everything you've already written stays readable whatever happens to the subscription.

A sheet of cream writing paper and a fountain pen under a low lamp, an envelope sealed beside it
Open When: letters for the days that need them. Open when you miss me, opened June 17. Open when you've had a bad day, sealed.
  5. 05 Always

    The wait, made visible.

Not a number ticking down. How far through it you already are: 93% of the wait behind you, the last goodbye and the next hello on one line, and the miles between them.

Milestones at 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days replace streaks. They can't be broken, and they can't be sold back to you.

The countdown: 11 days, 15 hours, 57 minutes. 93% of the wait behind you. London, September 6 to 13.
  6. 06 Afterwards

    It all stays yours.

Every answer, every photo, every letter, kept in one place that isn't a camera roll or a chat thread you'll never scroll back through.

Free keeps all of it, forever. The distance ends. The record of it doesn't.

Two mismatched coffee cups side by side on a windowsill in morning light
Memories: 25 things worth keeping. Photos, trips, moments and letters in a grid, each with a date and a city.

When you're both free

Four rooms for the same evening.

Not a video call you both run out of things to say on. Things you actually do at the same moment, from two kitchens and two time zones. And every night, one thing to learn about them: a question about them that you answer as them, sealed until you've both had a turn.

Tonight: It's 10:01 PM for Maya. One thing to learn today, then Draw together and Under the same sky.
  • Two brush strokes, one peach and one lilac, crossing on a sheet of paper

    Draw together

One canvas, two colours. They watch it happen, stroke by stroke.

  • A clear night sky full of stars above a dark treeline

    Under the same sky

Put a star up. Name what the two of you are making.

  • A sofa with a folded blanket in a dim room lit by the glow of a screen

    Watch together

One shared start, one position, whispers. Bring your own show.

  • A small table by a window at night, a bowl of pasta and a lit candle

    Cook together

Same dinner, different kitchen. Neither of you waits.

How it works

Two phones. One space. Ten minutes.

There is no profile to fill in and nobody to add. The whole setup is the two of you and a date.

  1. Get it on both phones

iPhone on one side and Android on the other is fine. Sign in with Apple or Google; there is no password to invent.

  2. Pick your two cities

Chosen, not tracked. The app never asks for your location. Both skies come alive at the real time of day at each end.

  3. Send one invite link

They tap it, and Home comes alive on both sides. Your space is scoped to the two of you and nobody else can be added to it.

  4. Set the date

The countdown starts. When you're finally in the same place, Home switches to Together Mode, and afterwards it helps you set the next one.

Privacy

Built for two people and nobody else.

This is where two people keep things they don't post anywhere else. These are structural, not a promise in a footer.

  1. Answers stay sealed.

Not even the other person can read yours until you have both written. The same is true of the daily photo.

  2. Your space is scoped to the two of you.

Nothing in it is addressable by anyone outside the pair: not a feed, not a friends list, not a discover tab.

  3. Nothing you write trains anything.

Answers, letters and photos are never used for advertising or to train AI models. Analytics stay off until you switch them on.

  4. Leaving is a real door.

Delete your account and you get 30 days to change your mind. After that your private data is erased. What you made together stays readable to the other person as an archive rather than vanishing.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Do we both have to pay?

No. One subscription covers the couple, not the person. Whichever of you subscribes, Premium is on for both phones, and the other never sees a paywall.

One of us has an iPhone and the other has Android.

That's fine. Everything works across the two, including the invite link, the sealed reveals and the touch.

Does it track where we are?

No. You choose your cities when you set up, and the app never asks for location permission. There is no dot on a map to watch.

Is there a chat?

No, on purpose. You already have five. until. feeds the conversation you're already having rather than competing with it.

Can we use it when we're in the same city?

Yes. When you're in the same place, Home switches to Together Mode and the countdown becomes the days you have. When one of you leaves, it becomes the wait until next time, and everything you made in between stays in your memories.

Who can see what we put in it?

Only the two of you. Nothing is public, there is no feed and no way to share outward. Questions and photos stay sealed until both of you have answered.

What happens to our things if we break up?

Either of you can end the relationship in Settings without the other's approval. Live sharing stops immediately, you each keep a read-only archive of what you made, and the two accounts can't pair with each other again. Deleting your account gives you 30 days to change your mind. How deletion works.

Are our answers and letters used for anything?

No. They are never used for advertising or to train AI models. Analytics are off until you switch them on, and even then they never include what you wrote. The full privacy policy.

The seam closes
when you do.
